RNLI North Berwick Lifeboat Station, 13 Victoria Road, North Berwick, East Lothian

The RNLI North Berwick Lifeboat Station in East Lothian was established in 1860. Now operating a D class lifeboat (an inflatable boat) from a historic boathouse, North Berwick Lifeboat Station serves a coastline renowned for its islands and beaches.

The surveyor for the project, PMP in Edinburgh (Project Management & Building Consultancy Limited), were familiar with KEIM having attended a CPD (Continuing Professional Development) and had used the product on a previous project.

The lifeboat station is situated in a coastal location, and KEIM was therefore chosen because of its durability and ability to withstand harsh weather conditions.

KEIM STS 7M and the DOFF system, where surfaces are gently cleaned using high pressure steam to strip and remove the existing coatings from the window sills, plinth base, pillars and lintels. Bare areas exhibiting sea salts were brushed away and treated using KEIM Silan Primer.

KEIM Spachtel, a mineral filler, was used to fill cracks within the render and KEIM I.G. Primer was applied onto stained areas.

KEIM Royalan was specified to provide a colourfast, breathable, protective and decorative mineral finish.
