Description

Multi-purpose, silicate exterior paint on a sol-silicate binder basis (combination of silica sol and water glass) for organic, mineral and mixed substrates.

The sol-silicate paint Keim Soldalit is water-repellent, highly water vapour permeable, lightfast, UV-stable, extremely resistant to weathering with minimal soiling tendency.

Keim Soldalit combines all the advantages of a classical silicate paint with the application range of an organically bound paint. Organic content < 5%.

Keim Soldalit has been employed at St Thomas' Church in Newhey, Ayr Townscape Regeneration/Ayr Renaissance, Bridgwater's Old Town Hall, Bridge House in Barnstaple which are shown in our Project Gallery and also on Wordsworth House in Cockermouth, Cogshall Hall, Antrobus, Wentworth Place in Chobham, Records Office in Carlisle,  and Valence House in Dagenham.

Areas of Application

For all mineral, absorbent surfaces, in particular suitable for restoration coatings on repaired and stripped surfaces with the exception of Wood, metal, plasto-elastic coatings etc.

Do's & Don'ts

Apply Keim Soldalit like a flat masonry paint. Conventional masonry sealers are unnecessary. Ensure all surfaces to be decorated are sound, clean, wind-dry, dust free and free of surface contaminants. Use only mineral fillers. Leave new render for 15 days prior to decoration. Use conventional masonry paint brushes and rollers to achieve best results. Dilute only as indicated. When airless spraying use a nozzle diameter of 0.79mm with a delivery pressure of 80-100 bar. Remove splashes on glazing by using a damp cloth. If left untreated a slight etching effect may occur. Remove spillage immediately by copious washing and brushing down. Clean all tools in water. Do not apply at temperatures below 5°C or in excess of 30°C(when in direct sunlight). Do not apply in wet or rainy conditions. Every five to ten years wash down surfaces to maintain pristine appearance. When re-decorating it is only necessary to wash down surface and paint in accordance with original specification.
